DENTAL PROSTHESIS AT KREMLIN BICÊTRE

Removable dental prosthesis

Complete removable dentures replace all the teeth in a jaw. They can be inserted and removed at will.

Dental prosthesis design

The production of complete removable prostheses requires a series of very precise steps. In fact, two or more impressions are necessary to record very precisely the position of the gum, tongue, lips and cheeks.

Using snaps:
If the contact surface between the prosthesis and the gum is not sufficient, or if saliva is lacking, the prosthesis can be stabilized using snaps placed on implants.

Follow-up

When wearing a complete removable prosthesis for the first time, there must be an adaptation period, particularly for eating.
In the weeks following the fitting of the prosthesis, numerous adjustments may be necessary in order to perfect its morphology and ensure optimum comfort.

Over time, the jawbone and gum tissue may sag, causing the prosthesis to lose its stability. This is remedied by performing a “reline,” which fills in the gaps between the prosthesis and the gum tissue.
