Post-operative advice and precautions

You have just received the installation of one or more dental implants.
The post-operative effects are simple or even non-existent, if the premedication has been correctly followed.

Always take all prescribed medications, even if there is no pain:A persistent pain is difficult to combat.

  • Take the prescribed painkillers at regular intervals after the procedure.
  • Place an ice pack on your cheek at all times on the day of the procedure and for as long as possible.
  • Use mouthwash diluted in water 24 hours after the procedure.
  • After removing the sutures, gently brush the surgical site and screws with a post-surgical brush.
  • If bleeding occurs, apply a compress for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Drink or eat hot food for the first few days.
  • Hold your cheek with your hand (heat source).
  • Eating too much solid food.
  • Drink alcohol or smoke.
  • Avoid intense physical exertion.
  • If the implant is painful
  • If the implant is mobile
  • If the site remains swollen for more than 3 days

Please follow these general tips and do not override what your dental surgeon may have prescribed/advised you. These tips will help you better cope with the post-operative period and improve the success of your implant treatment.
